Theory Tuition
At Rondo Music London we know how important theory tuition is. That is why we take it seriously and offer theory tuition to pupils of all ages, from our youngest beginners to adults, and we ensure they achieve their best whilst having fun.
The theory is a vital part of music. It covers almost everything one needs to know about music: the notes, rhythms, the clefs and so much more. The majority of instrumental lessons are spent explaining basic music theory to pupils rather than applying this knowledge to the instrument. This slows down progress on the instrument and makes it more like a chore than fun.
With our unique theory lessons (which we provide at different levels, from complete beginners to advanced pupils) the pupil feels more confident on his or her instrument, and both the pupil and teacher notice a significant difference in his or her progression.
The ABRSM practical exams include aural sections, which are always left to the last moment. During our theory lessons, these aural exercises are covered too, therefore the pupil can focus 100% on his or her instrument in their lesson.
There are prerequisites for Practical Grades 6, 7 and 8: candidates must already have passed grade 5 or above in Theory. This exam must have been passed before the closing date for the Practical exam and the certificate or mark form must be supplied at the time of entry.
With our dedicated classes for Grade 5 music theory you have the opportunity to prepare well for this important exam.
